SECONDLY : Ensuring your connection is configured

Step 1. Make sure you are in the "Dial-up Networking" window. You should still be there from the previous page's process.
Step 2. Right-click your "East Coast Access" icon, and select the bottom option "Properties" by clicking it. This will open the "Properties" window.
Step 3. Ensure that the "Telephone number" field contains this number : 2040900 . If you are situated within the 031 area code, make sure the "Use area code and Dialing properties" box does not have a tick. If you are not within the 031 area, make sure the field is ticked. You tick and untick by clicking the box.
Step 4. Next, click the "Server Types" tab near the top of the window.
This will open the "Server Types" area.
Make sure that the "Type of Dial-up Server" is set to the option which includes "PPP, Internet" among the description.

Next make sure all other fields in the window are NOT ticked, except for the "TCP/IP" field, which must be ticked.
Step 5. Now click the "TCP/IP Settings" button. This will open a new window titled "TCP/IP Settings".
In this window, make sure that the "Server-assigned IP address" and the "Server-assigned name server addresses" fields are selected by clicking the circle next to the fields.

Leave the other fields alone. Next click "OK".
Step 6. Click the next "OK" button at the bottom of the window, after the "TCP/IP Settings" window has closed.
Great! You've finished configuring your connection!
You've now got to ensure your Internet browser can access the Internet correctly.
