Once
you've made sure you have all the requirements to access the Internet,
follow our step by step guide and be surfing in a jiffy!

 Step
1. Double click the "My Computer" icon on your computer's
desktop. This action will open a new window.

Step
2. Next double-click the "Dial Up Networking" icon.
This will open a window entitled Dial-up Networking.
|
Step
3. Double-click the "Make New Connection" icon. This
will launch the Make New Connection wizard.

Step
4. In the "Type a name for the computer you dialing"
text field, replace the "My Connection" text by clicking
on the text, and typing in "East Coast Access".

Step
5. Ensure that the name of your modem appears in the "Select
Device" field. Then click "Next".
If an incorrect modem is listed, click on the field, and select it
from the list. If no modem description appears, you have not installed
your modem correctly.

Step
6. Leave the Area Code Blank.
Next type in the "Telephone number" for East Coast Access;
the number is 0315709000. Make sure your "Country Code" field is
set to South Africa.
Click "Next".

7. A confirmation window will appear. Click "Finish"
to complete your connection setup!

Step
8. A new icon should appear in your "Dial-up Networking"
window titled "East Coast Access". Whenever you wish to
connect to the Internet, double-click the icon, and enter your username
and password, and press "Connect".
For convienience, right-click the icon, and select "Create shortcut"
from the menu that appears. When prompted to place the shortcut on
your desktop, choose Yes. You can now connect via an icon that will
be on your desktop.

OK, you've got your connection, now you've got to
configure your connection.
